Gabriel Shaw has a photographic memory.

Very well-written story. One of the few that I've read lately that make me want to keep turning pages to see what happens next. There were a few (minor) grammatical errors that I easily got past that didn't interfere with the flow of the book.I like Griffin's gritty style, especially the scene where he finds Wallace on the floor. The reader can feel the absolute adrenaline and panic in the protagonist's actions, and that, to me, is the sign of a talented writer.
The part I didn't like, however, was the ending. Without spoiling it, here is why: it was unexpected, which is nice, but it made everything leading up to it seem pointless. It was a nice mystery with some edge-of-your-seat twists, but the conclusion ruined it for me.
I struggled to find a way to give this 4 stars. Alas, the abrupt (and senseless) final few pages spoiled any chance.

Photographic memory has been uses a theme in thrillers and suspense films a few times over the years, but Scott Griffin has a clever twist on the subject in this snappy little thriller. He gets across well the sense on being able to remember everything as a kind of disability, with the mind getting filled up with clutter that most of the rest of us dispose of. The hero is a down on his luck Nightwatchmen when his extraordinary memory is called upon by some criminals to plan a robbery in the block of flats he guards. Griffin builds the tension with a lot of skill and there is a smart twist towards the end that you need to watch out for. A memorable thriller, if you will pardon the pun.
Mr. Griffin is a very good writer. I was able to visualise his words in to my mental picture. His story was very creepy, ooh.
All he has to do is look in the room and leave! But as the circumstances become more and more complicated, insidious and downright frightening, I found myself caught up in the game. Really good story for mystery lovers.
I was thrown at first by the first person style of writing, but that was easy to adapt too and I soon found myself immersed in the story. Truly enjoyed the reading!
With premonition the hero reflects his years of working as a security guard. He constructs in three dimension the information at times is impossible to filter. He accepts a job from criminals. Descriptive tension and mystery build as wisps of his memory focus during life threatening events. As troubles arise, fans of mystery may find the ending surprising.
